Kautex Unipart
A joint venture, between Unipart and German partner Kautex Textron GmbH.
It has been one of Europe’s most successful JVs, celebrating 25 years of collaboration recently by producing its 12.3 millionth plastic fuel tank at its facility in Coventry.
Over that time, fuel tanks have been manufactured for 19 different vehicle models, with £50m invested in the latest robotic cells, world-class finishing stations and industry-leading traceability.
Institute for Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering (AME)
The UK’s first ‘Faculty on the Factory Floor’ was the brainchild of Unipart and Coventry University and was designed to address the skills shortage in engineering and provide a natural bridge to R&D and industry.
Working together, we have created a blueprint for academia and business collaboration revered the world over and, since AMEs formation, more than 250 graduate engineers have been produced and over £25m of research projects completed.
A further £5m investment in 2023, saw the Institute enhance its offer even further with new equipment installed, including laser manufacturing, data-driven metrology, functional materials laboratories and digital manufacturing.
This world class resource is open to learners, academic partners, SMEs and tier 1s.
